Last of the Urban Cowboys so to speak, our river guides are ordinary people who work during the week and go out on the weekends to have some fun while getting paid for it. The typical guide is someone who enjoys being outdoors, who likes the water and sunshine and nature in general.
You will earn respect and be in "ah" of those you meet. We will train you. But please note that this is not so much a money making gig, but more a get out of town on the weekends, make new friends, learn a great lifetime skill, gain confidence, and just plain old "have some fun in the great out of doors". Plus making a little extra money on the side is only another added bonus.

Training to be a whitewater rafting guide with Rivers Inc. is an exhilarating process. From the first day on the river you are at the back of the boat. Classes are small, so you get plenty of time on the river. You have to have an appetite for adventure and a willingness to jump in right away. training transformed me from a timid boy who couldn't decide when to

shout out commands while plowing through the roaring rapids. Each
weekend of training I was on the river learning and applying the methods
and techniques I was being taught, all while having a blast with some

sharing stories while getting completely drenched, and knowing you’re

the things (the River Inc Team) taught me (during training) applies to

can say without reservation that guide training is the most fun I can
imagine having while learning a job. It's the perfect combination of
excitement, beautiful scenery, and just enough exercise to help keep
fit. Not only that, it's a great way to get some sunlight on a regular
basis(and that's hard to come by in this state!). I really look forward
to returning to the rivers this spring!

really wanted to explore the outdoors last summer, which is why I
signed up for river guide training at Rivers Inc. The registration fee
and all the gear I ended up buying for whitewater rafting and guiding
were well worth the investment. I spent a total of ~3 full weeks on the
river, consisting of training, recreational, and commercial trips. I am
excited to be back on the river this coming spring and summer!
